Canadian artist Charles Pachter was born in Toronto in 1942. He studied French literature at the Sorbonne, art history at the University of Toronto, and painting and graphics at the Cranbrook Academy of Art in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan. Pachter works as a painter, printmaker, sculptor and designer. His art has been exhibited by renowned Canadian cultural institutions like the Art Gallery of Ontario, the Royal Ontario Museum, and the McMichael Canadian Art Collection in Kleinburg, Ontario. Pachter was named Officer of the Order of Canada in 2011. He lives and works in downtown Toronto.
